Former Senate President Ahmad Lawan has reaffirmed his commitment to the All Progressives Congress (APC), dismissing rumors of his defection to the Social Democratic Party (SDP) as “entirely false, baseless, and without any merit”.
Lawan’s statement, released by his Media Adviser Dr. Ezrel Tabiowo, emphasized his allegiance to the APC and denounced the rumors as deliberate attempts to mislead the public.

Lawan also reiterated his support for Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State and President Bola Tinubu, affirming his belief in their leadership and dedication to Nigeria’s transformation.

His statement urged the public to disregard the defection rumors, attributing them to mischief-makers seeking to create unnecessary distractions.
