Lazio delivered a commanding performance at the Stadio Olimpico, dismantling bottom-placed AC Monza 5-1 to secure their first home victory in five league matches. The win propelled the Biancocelesti to fourth place in Serie A, while Monza’s struggles continued with their fourth consecutive defeat, leaving them anchored at the foot of the table. Despite their dominance, Lazio missed out on a long-awaited clean sheet, conceding a late penalty in an otherwise one-sided encounter.
From the outset, Lazio asserted control, pinning Monza back with relentless attacking play. Within the first 15 minutes, Taty Castellanos and Mattia Zaccagni came close, while Alessio Romagnoli had a shot blocked. The breakthrough arrived in the 31st minute when Adam Marusic powered in a header to give the hosts a deserved halftime lead. Monza, struggling to cope with Lazio’s intensity, failed to register a single shot in the opening period.

The second half followed a similar pattern, with Lazio continuing to press forward. Monza finally managed their first attempt on goal in the 54th minute through Tomas Palacios, but his header went wide. The missed opportunity proved costly as Lazio quickly extended their lead. Pedro doubled the advantage after a fine assist from Castellanos, and moments later, the Argentine striker turned scorer, finishing calmly from a Zaccagni pass to make it 3-0.
Lazio’s attacking onslaught continued, and Pedro sealed his brace with a first-time effort, finishing off a Tijjani Noslin assist. However, their hopes of a clean sheet were dashed late in the match when Monza won a penalty for handball. Stefano Sensi converted from the spot, with Lazio goalkeeper Ivan Provedel managing to get a hand to the ball but failing to keep it out.
Despite conceding, Lazio capped off a dominant display with a final flourish as Fisayo Dele-Bashiru found space in the box and rifled a shot into the top corner. The emphatic result underscored Lazio’s attacking prowess while highlighting Monza’s continued struggles in Serie A. The visitors remain rooted to the bottom, showing little sign of a turnaround in form.
