Manchester United have submitted £45m plus £10m add ons proposal for the Brentford attacker, Bryan Mbeumo. According to journalist David Ornstein, negotiations have started and Brentford is asking for a fee close to what Man United paid for Cunha–starting from £70m with possibility to negotiate.
As negotiations progresses, Brentford want a minimum guaranteed fee of £50 million. Man United’s offer of up to £55 million in add-ons, didn’t meet that.
To avoid a bidding war, Man United waited for Bryan Mbeumo to communicate his desire to join the Red Devils. Therefore other suitors have backed off.
Brentford would want add-ons to be more player-specific as opposed to team-based add-ons like Champions League qualification. Brentford tends to want this as they know the player and have more confidence in them.
Most first bids don’t get accepted in transfers, so Man United are still confident of signing Bryan Mbeumo.
Mbeumo put up amazing performance in the 2024/25 Premier League season with 20 goals and 7 assists in 38 matches.
Man United coach, Rúben Amorim likes Bryan Mbeumo’s flexibility. He has played as a right winger, striker, right-sided No. 10, and right wing back in various systems under Frank at Brentford. Amorim believes he will fit perfectly in his system of play.
