Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has announced that the 2024/2025 season will mark his final year with the club, indicating that there have been no discussions regarding a contract extension between himself and Liverpool.
According to reports, Salah made this statement following Liverpool’s impressive 3-0 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday. “As you are aware, this is my last year at the club. I wish to enjoy it without dwelling on the future. I feel liberated to play football, and we will see what unfolds next year,” he remarked.
Nevertheless, Sky Sports analyst Jamie Carragher has speculated that Salah may remain with the team. “I would be surprised if Salah is not playing for Liverpool next season,” Carragher stated. Salah assisted Luis Diaz in scoring twice and netted a third goal himself, effectively silencing the crowd at Old Trafford on Super Sunday, before seemingly confirming his departure from Liverpool at the end of the current season during a post-match interview.
He elaborated, “Before the match, I mentioned that it could be my last appearance here with Liverpool. No one from the club has approached me regarding contracts, so I am simply accepting that I am playing my final season and will see what happens at the conclusion of the season. “It is not within my control, but there has been no communication from the club. We will see what transpires.” Salah, whose contract is set to expire next summer, has been with Anfield since the summer of 2017 when he transferred from Roma for a then-club-record fee.
