He addressed this letter to the party’s Ward Chairman in Gwange, Damaturu metropolis. This confirmed his immediate withdrawal from the ruling party.
Resignation Takes Immediate Effect
Bello contested for the senatorial seat in Yobe Zone A. He stated that his resignation takes immediate effect. Specifically, the letter serves as official notification to the party leadership at the grassroots level.
The letter read in part: “I am writing to formally notify you of my decision to resign my membership from the All Progressives Congress (APC) immediately. Furthermore, this decision did not come lightly.”
He explained that his departure followed significant personal reflection: “It follows considerable reflection on my personal values and the direction of the party.”
Consequently, Bello believes the decision is necessary for his future and that of his constituents. Therefore, he concluded the letter by prioritizing his personal and community welfare.
“After much deliberation, I have concluded that it is in my best interest and that of my community to step away from the party at this time.”
The high-profile exit of the former senatorial aspirant from the APC is expected to generate significant political ripple effects in Yobe State. However, the letter did not specify his next political move. It also failed to mention which party he might join next after leaving APC’s “bondage.”
