To sustain Nigeria’s dominance in youth football, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has reappointed Manu Garba as Golden Eaglets Head Coach.
The decision followed a recommendation by the NFF Technical and Development Sub-Committee, endorsed by the NFF Executive Committee this week.
Garba coached Nigeria’s U17 team to FIFA U17 World Cup victory in 2013 and led them to Brazil’s 2019 edition as well.
Meanwhile, the NFF also approved Moses Aduku’s appointment as Falconets Head Coach, replacing former coach Chris Danjuma.
Aduku brings extensive experience in women’s football, having managed Bayelsa Queens and Edo Queens with notable success in recent years.
He also served as assistant coach to the U20 girls team that reached the 2022 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup quarterfinals in Costa Rica.
Both Garba and Aduku are scheduled to resume duties officially on Sunday, preparing their teams for key international competitions.
The Falconets face Rwanda in the 2026 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup qualifier this September, aiming for another World Cup berth.
Simultaneously, the Golden Eaglets will compete in the WAFU B U17 Boys Tournament, which Nigeria will host the same month.
These appointments demonstrate NFF’s strategic focus on youth development and its commitment to maintaining strong international performance.
Internal challenges in age-grade teams have previously raised concerns, making strong technical leadership a priority for Nigerian football success.
