A daring abduction of a six-month-old baby in Niger State has been foiled by the Nigerian Police, who rescued the infant and arrested the suspects involved. The incident occurred in the Kwamba area of Suleja, where the baby’s cousin, Joy Nuwa, conspired with neighbors to abduct the child.
According to the Niger State Police Command, Nuwa was asked to look after the baby while the mother went to get a message. However, Nuwa and her accomplices transported the baby to Kubwa in Abuja, with the intention of selling her. The police were alerted to the missing baby, and after a thorough investigation, they recovered the infant and returned her to her mother.
The police arrested four suspects, including Nuwa, Favour James, Ezekiel Emmanuel, and Patience Obana, who have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and prosecution. The Niger State Police Command has commended its operatives for their swift response and professionalism in resolving the case.
The police have urged parents and guardians to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities. They also assured the public that they will continue to work tirelessly to prevent and investigate crimes.
