Aminu Dantata, a respected businessman and elder statesman from northern Nigeria, has made a significant contribution to the flood victims in Maiduguri, Borno State.
Dantata, who is 96 years old, traveled to Maiduguri to offer support and solidarity to those affected by the recent devastating floods that have severely impacted the city.

During his visit, Dantata, accompanied by a delegation from Kano, made a generous donation of N1.5 billion to aid the flood victims. The visit took place at the Borno Government House on Tuesday, where Dantata met with Governor Babagana Zulum and other state officials. This substantial donation is intended to help the victims recover from the disaster and rebuild their lives.

In his address, Dantata expressed his deep sympathy for the victims and conveyed his condolences to Governor Zulum for the lives lost in the floods. He acknowledged the severe impact of the disaster on the local communities and emphasized the need for collective support to address the crisis.

Dantata also took the opportunity to comment on the broader state of the nation’s economy. He urged Nigerian leaders to reflect on their actions and to govern with integrity and a sense of divine responsibility. His remarks highlighted his concern for the country’s economic challenges and his call for ethical leadership.

Governor Zulum responded with heartfelt gratitude for Dantata’s generous donation and the gesture of solidarity. He acknowledged the significance of the support provided by the elderly statesman, emphasizing how much it means to the people of Borno.

“The people of Borno deeply appreciate this act of humanity from a 96-year-old. Our Baba has donated N1.5 billion to support the flood victims, which is a tremendous help in our time of need. May Allah bless and reward you abundantly. We are truly grateful, Baba,” Zulum said.

The governor’s response underscores the positive impact of Dantata’s donation on the flood relief efforts. The funds are expected to be used for various forms of assistance, including emergency relief, rebuilding infrastructure, and providing essential services to those affected by the floods.

This visit and donation from Dantata come at a crucial time as Maiduguri and the broader Borno State struggle to cope with the aftermath of the floods. His support is a significant boost to the ongoing recovery efforts and serves as a reminder of the importance of community solidarity and charitable actions in times of crisis.

Overall, Dantata’s visit and donation have been widely praised as a remarkable gesture of compassion and leadership, reflecting his longstanding commitment to helping those in need and contributing positively to the welfare of Nigeria’s citizens.
