Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has expressed his deep sadness over the passing of the Alaperu of Iperu-Remo, Oba Adeleke Adelekan Idowu-Basibo. The governor described the monarch’s demise as “a deeply shocking and irreplaceable personal loss.”
Governor Abiodun, who is a prince of the Iperu-Remo kingdom, had a close relationship with the late monarch. He praised Oba Adeleke Adelekan Idowu-Basibo’s exceptional leadership, which brought peace and prosperity to the Iperu-Remo kingdom, Ogun State, and Nigeria as a whole.
The late monarch was a highly respected traditional ruler with an impressive educational background. He held a Ph.D. from the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology and had a distinguished career at the Customs Service in Europe, spanning two decades.
Governor Abiodun described Oba Adeleke Adelekan Idowu-Basibo as a “royal father, friend, and confidant.” He praised the monarch’s remarkable progress and development in the Iperu-Remo kingdom, particularly in infrastructure development, economic advancement, and peace expansion.
The governor acknowledged that the late monarch’s passing has left a void in the Iperu-Remo kingdom and Ogun State. He expressed his condolences to the family of the late monarch and the people of Iperu-Remo.
The late Oba Adeleke Adelekan Idowu-Basibo will be deeply missed by his people and those who knew him. His legacy as a wise and just leader will continue to inspire future generations.
