Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has demonstrated his commitment to the welfare of pensioners in the state by releasing N2.5 billion for the payment of gratuities to local government pensioners.
The governor made the announcement during the flag-off ceremony of the 4th tranche of bulk payment of outstanding gratuities to pensioners in the state.
Aiyedatiwa reassured the pensioners that his administration is committed to clearing all outstanding gratuities owed to them.
The governor attributed the success of the payment to a system of regular warehousing of funds for gratuity payment to pensioners, which has been put in place by his administration.
Aiyedatiwa denied that the payment was politically motivated, stating that it was a demonstration of his administration’s sincerity and commitment to the welfare of pensioners.
The Head of Service, Bayo Phillip, praised the governor for his efforts in putting smiles on the faces of pensioners, stating that the governor’s commitment to their welfare is unparalleled.
Phillip noted that the governor’s actions have shown that he is determined to clear all outstanding gratuities in the state, regardless of party or ethnic affiliations.
