Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has summoned the heads of security agencies in the state to address the recent killings in four communities in Akure North Local Government Area.
The governor’s move comes after suspected herdsmen attacked the communities, resulting in multiple deaths.
Security operatives have been deployed to the area to investigate the cause of the attack.
Aiyedatiwa, represented by the Commander of the Ondo Amotekun Corps, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, visited the
affected communities, including Alajido and Sunday Camp, where nine people were killed.
The governor assured residents of immediate security interventions and relief support to ease their suffering. He
urged residents to return to their homes and farms, assuring them of adequate security.
Aiyedatiwa commiserated with the affected families, promising to secure the area and bring the culprits to justice.
“We assure residents and farmers that now that the government is here, we will secure the area and bring the culprits to justice.”

The Regent of Ademekun in Akure North Local Government, Princess Adelowo Adekemisola, thanked the state
government for its immediate response to the incident.
One of the survivors, a 35-year-old farmer, Samson Joro, recounted his ordeal, saying he was born in one of the farms
and had nowhere else to go with his family.
