Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has dissolved the State Executive Council, effective immediately. The decision, announced on January 15, 2025, is part of the governor’s strategy to streamline governance and enhance efficiency within the state’s leadership structure.
A statement issued by Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, outlined that the dissolution would affect all members of the cabinet, with two notable exceptions. Dr. Kayode Ajulo, SAN, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, and Mrs. Omowunmi Isaac, the Commissioner for Finance, were retained due to the critical nature of their roles in maintaining legal and financial stability within the state.
Governor Aiyedatiwa extended his gratitude to the departing cabinet members, thanking them for their contributions and service. He expressed his well wishes for their future endeavors and affirmed that the dissolution would allow for a restructuring of the administration to meet the evolving needs of the state.
All affected cabinet members were instructed to hand over their government properties to the accounting officers in their respective ministries to ensure a smooth transition. The reshuffle comes as the Governor prepares to announce new appointments aimed at driving the next phase of his administration’s agenda.
