Finidi George has included Victor Osimhen and Alex Iwobi in his 23-man roster for the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers, but Osimhen had to withdraw due to injury.
Two prominent members of the Super Eagles, Victor Osimhen and Alex Iwobi, have been spotted enjoying their offseason in different locales following the departure of their coach, Finidi George.
Several football players, such as Frank Onyeka, Raphael Onyedika, and Victor Boniface, are taking advantage of their summer break after a demanding season with their respective clubs.
In a recent video, Osimhen, who recently faced online scrutiny, seemed unfazed by the backlash as he was seen reveling and generously spending money in a club.
Meanwhile, in another setting, Fulham standout Iwobi, whose talents is in the shadows of his uncle Austin Jay-Jay Okocha, was observed rapping in a club.
Osimhen’s online outburst came in response to reports suggesting that Finidi had accused him of feigning an injury ahead of Nigeria’s 2026 World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and the Benin Republic.
In retaliation, the 25-year-old striker took to social media to address the issue, using harsh language towards Finidi, who was then still the head coach of the Super Eagles.
Nigerian football enthusiasts have been calling for an apology from Osimhen, as it has been clarified that Finidi never made such allegations. Nevertheless, the Napoli forward has yet to offer an apology and seems to be enjoying his vacation instead.
