Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has reviewed the 24-hour curfew imposed on Ifon, Ilobu, and Erin-Osun
communities, reducing it to 17 hours daily. This decision was made to alleviate the suffering of residents in the affected areas.
The curfew, which was initially imposed to curb the communal crisis in the area, will now run from 2 pm to 7 am.
Governor Adeleke’s decision to relax the curfew was influenced by the Olobu of Ilobu, Oba Ashiru Olaniyan, who urged
him to review the curfew.
The communal crisis, which erupted over a land dispute, has resulted in the loss of lives, destruction of properties,
and displacement of over 100,000 people. Governor Adeleke has commended the cessation of hostilities in the area
but expressed dissatisfaction with reports of another killing.
The governor has warned that anyone found masterminding violent acts will face the full consequences of the law.
He has also tasked the joint security task force to maintain 24-hour surveillance to ensure zero tolerance for any act of lawlessness.

The relaxation of the curfew is expected to bring some relief to the residents of the affected communities. Governor

materials to those affected by the crisis. Governor Adeleke has also directed the state emergency agency to intensify
support services for the displaced persons.
