According to Segun Sowunmi, a chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party and former spokeswoman for Atiku Abubakar’s 2023 presidential campaign, President Bola Tinubu is smarter than his political competitors, which include Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi.
Sowunmi made these assertions when he appeared on Television to grant an interview, where he expressed his views about the state of the Nation.
While responding to concerns about his recent visit to the president, the former Ogun governorship aspirant stated that his meeting with Tinubu should not be seen as a betrayal of his political allegiance with Atiku.
Sowunmi, who declared his political independence, stated he is not affiliated with any politician.
When asked if he told Atiku before meeting Tinubu, Sowunmi replied that as an adult, he is free to make his own decisions.
“I am at liberty as an adult to take decisions. I am not tied to anybody. I am not anti-Tinubu. I own my mouth, I own my words, and I own my arguments.
Sowunmi praised Tinubu and his programs, citing the president’s intelligence as a key contrast from his political opponents.
He mentioned also that the President is also smarter than Atiku, his former boss, when asked during the interview.
On why he went to see the president, the PDP chieftain stated that he has a close relationship with Tinubu and has known him since 1994.
According to him, he went to Tinubu to talk and comprehend why opposition parties blame his government for their problems.
