PDP Crisis: PDP Confirms Samuel Anyanwu as National Secretary

The PDP reaffirms Anyanwu as its National Secretary, ending weeks of crisis and internal speculation over leadership.
Party leaders at the 100th NEC meeting made the decision after reviewing their engagement with INEC officials recently. Acting National Chairman Umar Damagum addressed reporters, explaining the party called the NEC specifically for this sole agenda.
PDP governors and stakeholders all attended and unanimously agreed to keep Senator Anyanwu in the secretary’s position.
The PDP reaffirms Anyanwu to ensure legal compliance and political stability ahead of the postponed national convention.

PDP leaders postponed the convention until July 23, promising to issue a joint notice signed by both officers.
Damagum assured supporters that PDP leadership resolved their issues internally and presented a united front against external distractions.
He dismissed any claims of discord, saying the presence of governors proved PDP remains cohesive and politically grounded.
PDP governors and stakeholders worked together to stabilize the party and maintain grassroots strength nationwide ahead of 2027.
Bauchi Governor Bala Mohammed praised the National Working Committee for restoring calm and unity within PDP’s national structure.

Mohammed said PDP overcame recent challenges because its members stayed committed, disciplined, and strategically focused on shared goals.
He urged PDP members to ignore divisive media reports and focus on consolidating gains ahead of future elections. PDP reaffirms Anyanwu again as a symbol of confidence, trust, and continuity across all leadership levels in the party.
Mohammed applauded state chapters and party executives for holding the line and preventing further cracks during uncertain political times.
The PDP National Executive Committee promised to address remaining issues at the rescheduled convention coming up in late July.
Damagum warned political detractors to stop spreading falsehoods, emphasizing PDP’s capacity to navigate any crisis with internal discipline.
The PDP reaffirms Anyanwu decisively, sending a strong message that the party remains unshaken and ready for 2027 elections.
