She made the remarks in Port Harcourt while receiving a courtesy visit from the NSITF delegation led by Regional Manager Hycinth Chidozie.
Dr. Nwoga commended the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) for offering financial support during challenging workplace-related situations.
She emphasized that NSITF’s responsibilities align with employee welfare and encouraged the agency to sustain transparency and integrity.
The PHCCIMA president revealed plans to establish an NSITF Desk Office at the chamber’s headquarters to enhance member accessibility.
According to her, PHCCIMA’s mandate includes creating business growth platforms while engaging government agencies on members’ behalf.
Dr. Nwoga also pledged continuous collaboration with NSITF to ensure seamless implementation of its Employee Compensation Scheme (ECS).
Earlier, Mr. Chidozie highlighted the agency’s readiness to partner with PHCCIMA, leveraging its vast network of member companies nationwide.
He explained that the ECS offers financial support and rehabilitation to injured workers while preserving a sustainable compensation fund.
Chidozie reiterated that the NSITF is determined to drive economic empowerment and poverty alleviation across Nigeria through social protection.
He added that the organisation’s mission under the Employees’ Compensation Act (2010) guarantees timely support to affected employees or dependents.
These include cases of workplace injury, occupational disease, disability, or fatality under a fair and adequate compensation framework.
During the meeting, he congratulated Dr. Nwoga for becoming PHCCIMA’s first female president and emphasized deeper institutional collaboration.
Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening ties and promoting workers’ rights through sustained awareness and outreach programs.
