The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), in collaboration with the Plateau State Emergency
Management Agency (SEMA), has begun a rapid assessment of the communities affected by recent attacks in
Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.
NEMA reported that multiple villages, including Ruwi, Hurti, Tadai, Gwande, Manguna, and Dafo, were impacted by
violent assaults that resulted in at least 52 fatalities between March 27 and April 2, 2025. Over 1,820 people have
been displaced, with many taking refuge in temporary camps and local communities.

The agency has been working on delivering relief materials to the affected populations, with a high-level NEMA team
en route to Plateau to coordinate further relief efforts. Displacement camps have been set up in Daffo, Hurti, and
Gwande to accommodate those who have lost their homes.
President Bola Tinubu, in response to the violence, has vowed to apprehend the attackers and bring them to justice.
He urged the public to cooperate with security agencies to help identify the perpetrators.
