Pochettino has left Chelsea after just one season as the manager, by mutual agreement. The decision was reached on Tuesday morning following the club’s end-of-season review that started the day before, as reported by the Telegraph.
Chelsea finished sixth in the Premier League, showing improvement from the previous season. Throughout the season, there were concerns about Pochettino’s future due to a challenging start at Stamford Bridge.
The Argentine coach had signed a two-year contract last summer, but his departure means he only fulfilled one year of it and is set to receive a significant compensation package.

In a statement, Chelsea confirmed the mutual agreement to part ways with Mauricio Pochettino.
During the ownership tenure of an American group led by Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital, Chelsea spent over £1 billion on new players, with most investments made in promising talents. Pochettino cited the team’s lack of experience and a long injury list as reasons for their inconsistent results.
Despite losing the League Cup final to Liverpool and exiting the FA Cup at the semi-finals stage against Manchester City, Chelsea showed promising signs at the end of the season with five consecutive wins, securing a place in European competition next season.
Depending on the outcome of the FA Cup final between Manchester United and City, Chelsea will either qualify for the Europa League or the Conference League.

Pochettino thanked the Chelsea ownership and sports directors for the opportunity and expressed confidence in the club’s future progression in English and European competitions.
Chelsea’s sports directors, Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley, acknowledged Pochettino’s service during the season, welcoming him back to Stamford Bridge anytime and wishing him success in his coaching career.
