The Force Intelligence Department-Intelligence Response Team (FID-IRT) has apprehended Ogaga Dickson, a 35-year-old member of an armed robbery syndicate responsible for the death of CSP Hassan Jega, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Agbarho Division in Delta State.
Jega was killed in a gunfight on October 14, 2024, during an operation to foil a robbery. Four gang members were neutralized during the confrontation. Ogaga was arrested on November 1, 2024, and police recovered various weapons, ammunition, and six exotic vehicles from the syndicate.
In a related development, a child-trafficking syndicate led by Pastor Dayo Bernard of End Time Army Ministry, Plateau State, was dismantled. The police rescued five children, aged 2 to 4, and arrested accomplices Rita Agboeze, Victoria Ugwu, Nanman Puntel, and Peter Ukwuani. Investigations revealed that Bernard had abducted and sold 13 children, who have since been reunited with their families.
ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer, highlighted these successes as part of the Nigeria Police’s proactive, intelligence-driven approach to tackling crime. He also reported the recovery of 14 AK-47 rifles as part of efforts to remove illegal arms in circulation.
