Five people have reportedly died under mysterious circumstances in the Afashio Community of Uzairue, Etsako West Local Government Area in Edo State. The incident occurred last week when the bodies of four boys and a girl were found lifeless in a single room. Family members made the grim discovery after noticing the group hadn’t emerged from the room and decided to check on them.
Sources within the community have suggested that food poisoning may be the cause of death, as there were no visible signs of injury or assault on the victims. Among the deceased were two brothers, while the remaining three individuals, including a female, were reportedly friends.
The incident has been reported to the Jattu Police Division in Edo State, with family members and authorities working to determine the exact cause of death. A community member remarked, “This is a heartbreaking tragedy; they were all so young and close to each other. We can only hope the police find answers.”
Edo State Command Spokesperson Moses Yamu confirmed the case, stating, “The Command is aware. An investigation to determine the cause of death is ongoing.” As the police continue their probe, the community remains on edge, awaiting answers about the tragic deaths.
