President Bola Tinubu has been conferred with a prestigious Saint Lucia honour during his diplomatic state visit to the Caribbean.
The Government of Saint Lucia awarded Tinubu the Knight Commander of the Order of Saint Lucia (KCOSL) on Sunday afternoon.
This Tinubu Saint Lucia honour recognizes his outstanding leadership on the African continent and commitment to international cooperation.
Saint Lucia’s Prime Minister made the announcement public via an official statement on the government’s verified X social handle.
He said, “The Governor General has officially approved the conferment of Knight Commander title on H.E. Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”
The Saint Lucia honour is among the island’s highest national awards for individuals rendering globally distinguished service.
Established in 1985, the Order of Saint Lucia represents the pinnacle of the country’s system of national decorations and recognition.
The rank of Knight Commander, received by Tinubu, is the second-highest within the national order—only below the Grand Cross. The statement credited Tinubu’s diplomatic efforts to rekindle cultural and economic links between Africa and the Caribbean nations.

During the visit, Saint Lucia gave Tinubu the rare honour of addressing a joint session of the national parliament.
