The Federal Government has announced plans to expand the supply and distribution of gas as a key energy source to every corner. The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Nicholas Ella, stated this during a training session for officials of the ministry in Abuja yesterday.
Ella noted that President Bola Tinubu has placed great emphasis on gas infrastructure development and distribution with the launch of the “Decade of Gas” program.
“The President places great emphasis on gas infrastructure development and distribution. He demonstrated this with the launch of the “Decade of Gas” program which will ensure that Nigeria expands the supply and distribution of gas as a key energy source.
“Many states have joined the Federal Government’s Gas Expansion Program.
“With the National Gas Expansion Program, we are vigorously pushing for the expansion of gas to every corner of the country.
“As part of the Gas Decade Vision, we have seen significant expansion of gas infrastructure including the AKK Gas Pipeline Project, the OB3 Gas Pipeline Project, and the ANOH Project operated by NNPC Ltd.
have been undertaken.
“These projects are aimed at ensuring efficient and widespread gas supply and positioning Nigeria as a leading gas-rich economy,” he said.
He also stressed that they must perform their duties professionally and diligently to realize the vision of the Federal Government.
He said, “I therefore want to use this opportunity to appeal to all staff of this great Ministry to rise to the great responsibility that rests on our shoulders as civil servants because as we all know, this is the engine that drives and sustains the development of any society.
“I call on all of us including the junior, middle, and senior executives of the Ministry to roll up our sleeves and join the honourable Minister of State as mandated by President Bola Tinubu to execute his ‘Renew Hope’ agenda. In line with the President’s vision to put Nigeria back on the path of growth and sustainable development, we must not slacken in our mission as a Ministry to advance the President’s vision and mission of laying a sustainable foundation for a decent society.”
