President Bola Tinubu has returned to Abuja following a successful official visit to China and a brief stopover in the United Kingdom.
According to a statement released by Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu’s Special Assistant on Information and Strategy, President Tinubu departed Abuja on August 29 for Beijing, China, where he commenced his official visit on September 2.
During his time in China, President Tinubu engaged in bilateral talks with President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang, culminating in the signing of five memoranda of understanding between Nigeria and China.
As Chair of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), President Tinubu also addressed the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) in Beijing, emphasizing the importance of multilateralism and cooperation in achieving global peace.
Additionally, President Tinubu met with representatives of the Nigerian Diaspora Organization in China, where he stressed the need for reforms to achieve stable electricity supply and quality education in Nigeria, drawing inspiration from China’s successes.
Following his China visit, President Tinubu traveled to London, where he held discussions with King Charles III on climate change and potential countermeasures.
President Tinubu’s official visit has concluded, and he has returned to Abuja.
