The Emir of Kano, Malam Muhammadu Sanusi II, on Wednesday, strongly condemned the recent destruction of property at the Kano State Printing Press during the nationwide protests. The destruction, carried out by hoodlums, has deeply disturbed the community.

Following the attacks, the Emir conducted an inspection of the affected sites, including the Kano State Printing Press and the NCC Digital Centre, to assess the extent of the damage. His visit aimed to understand the full scope of the destruction and to reassure the public of his commitment to addressing the crisis.

The Emir expressed his outrage over the vandalism, stating that the intent behind these acts was to cause significant harm to Kano. He asserted that despite the efforts of these disruptive elements, they would not succeed in their mission. “By Allah’s grace, Kano will recover and continue to prosper,” he declared.

Sanusi highlighted the importance of proactive measures to protect both lives and property, especially when there are credible security threats. He stressed that it is crucial for the community to come together to safeguard their interests and maintain peace during times of unrest.

The Emir called for a thorough investigation into the vandalism. He indicated that it was evident some individuals were intentionally working to damage Kano’s infrastructure and disrupt its progress. Sanusi alleged that the youths involved in the attacks had been manipulated by those who opposed the city’s development.

He also noted the historical significance of the Kano State Printing Press, established in 1933, and his family’s historical connection to it. This connection underscores the personal and cultural impact of the recent destruction on the Emir and the people of Kano.

During his visit, Sanusi also inspected the NCC Digital Centre, which had suffered significant damage. He expressed concern over the impact of these attacks on the city’s technological and educational infrastructure. The Emir’s condemnation of the destruction reflects his commitment to preserving the stability and security of Kano State.

Sanusi urged the youth of Kano to remain vigilant and cautious of those who seek to harm their community. He emphasized the need for the people to recognize and confront their true enemies, rather than being misled into acts of violence.

By addressing the destruction and calling for accountability, the Emir is working to restore order and support the state’s recovery. His actions demonstrate a steadfast commitment to maintaining peace and ensuring that Kano emerges stronger from the recent turmoil. The Emir’s leadership and dedication are crucial in guiding the city through this challenging period and towards a future of stability and growth.
