After the state government said they are yet to officially receive the letter containing the House’s resolution, the Rivers
State House of Assembly has disputed that the state government lied on the claim that they’re yet to receive the
letter on the House’s resolution.
The Speaker’s principal secretary informed the media that the FedEx courier service had delivered the letter to
Government House on March 3rd, but that when the courier reached the gate, staff inside were notified to return the
letter to the sender rather than accept it.
This came after the Rivers State House of Assembly decided on Monday to give Governor Fubara 48 hours to send
them the 2025 appropriations bill.
But the state government said they are yet to officially receive the letter containing their resolution.

According to a previous letter signed by Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Tammy Danagogo, he noted that as

received this letter.
The state government clarified in a letter to the Speaker of the House, signed by Secretary to the State Government
Dr. Tammy Danagogo, that as of the end of business on March 4, the document had not been received by the office of
the Governor, the Deputy Governor, or the Accountant-General.
Nevertheless, no specific person was mentioned in the letter as the speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly.
Danagogo cited Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s recent state broadcast from March 2, in which he reaffirmed his
dedication to upholding the rule of law.
He said despite any personal opinions on the Supreme Court’s ruling, the Governor had assured the people of Rivers
State, that his administration would abide by and implement the court’s decisions in the best interest of the state.
The government further revealed that its legal team is still awaiting a certified true copy of the judgement and
assured the public that once received, the governor would act accordingly without delay.
The letter read, “I hereby refer to you to a letter dated March 3, 2025, on the above subject matter, which we came
across on social media, and notify you that:
