The Rivers State staff verification exercise has officially commenced following approval from Sole Administrator Vice Admiral (Rtd.) Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas.

In a press release signed by the Acting Head of Service, Dr. Inyingi S. I. Brown, the government confirmed the process.

According to the statement, the first phase will involve workers across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies within the state workforce.

Verification begins Thursday, July 24, 2025, with staff expected to appear based on the timetable already circulated for scheduling.

Each staff member must appear physically and come along with the listed documents required for proper verification and clearance.

The government emphasized that all staff should strictly follow their allocated dates to avoid unnecessary delays and congestion issues.

Failure to attend the scheduled date may result in delays or exclusion from official payroll processing, the notice also warned.

For now, the verification targets only MDAs staff, while Rivers State pensioners will receive separate dates at a later time.

The administration assured that pensioner verification dates would be communicated through official channels once arrangements are concluded.

This exercise, authorities said, aims to eliminate payroll fraud, update staff records, and ensure only eligible workers receive benefits.

The Rivers State government reiterated its commitment to transparency, accuracy, and accountability in managing public resources effectively.

This is part of broader reforms initiated by Vice Admiral Ibas since assuming office to improve governance and staff welfare statewide.
