Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has responded to criticism from Wayne Rooney, who labeled him “naive” for suggesting that the Red Devils can still win the Premier League title. Amorim’s comments came after United’s disappointing FA Cup exit at the hands of Fulham, which has left the team’s season hanging in the balance.

Amorim acknowledged that United’s current position in the league table is far from ideal, but he insisted that the team’s goal remains the same – to win the Premier League title. The Portuguese manager emphasized that he is not naive about the challenges that lie ahead, but he believes that United have the talent and the determination to turn their season around.

Rooney, who was watching the match as a pundit, expressed sympathy for Amorim’s situation, given that he was brought in mid-season. However, the former United striker challenged Amorim’s choice of words, suggesting that it was unrealistic to talk about winning the title given United’s current form.

Amorim responded to Rooney’s criticism by saying that he understands the skepticism, but he believes that United have the potential to achieve great things. The manager pointed out that United’s history is filled with examples of the team overcoming adversity to achieve success, and he believes that the current squad has the same spirit and determination.

Despite the FA Cup exit, Amorim remains optimistic about United’s chances of turning their season around. The team’s focus now shifts to the Europa League, where they will face Real Sociedad in the next round. Amorim believes that a strong run in the Europa League could be the catalyst for a resurgence in the league.

Amorim’s comments were echoed by United’s players, who also expressed their determination to turn the season around. The team’s captain, Harry Maguire, emphasized that United have the talent and the experience to overcome their current challenges and achieve success.

The FA Cup exit was a bitter pill for United to swallow, but Amorim believes that the team can learn from the experience and use it as motivation to improve. The manager emphasized that United’s season is far from over, and he is confident that the team can still achieve their goals.
