Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has finally revealed why Marcus Rashford was frozen out of the team, admitting that he couldn’t convince the 27-year-old to buy into his preferred style of play. Rashford’s last appearance for United was in mid-December, and he subsequently joined Aston Villa on loan in February.
The Portuguese boss acknowledged that Rashford is a talented player, but emphasized that he needs players who can fit into his system. “Sometimes you have one player that is really good with one coach, and the same player with another coach is different,” Amorim added.
Rashford has since spoken highly of his new manager at Aston Villa, Unai Emery, describing him as a “top manager.” The English winger also expressed his excitement at joining a team that plays a style of football that suits him.
