Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has expressed his sympathy to the management and staff of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) following a fire outbreak at the Radio Nigeria Broadcasting House in Ikoyi on Wednesday evening.
The fire incident, which affected two buildings, including control rooms and studios, was described by Sanwo-Olu as “unfortunate.” According to the governor, “The fire at Radio Nigeria’s Lagos office is worrisome and a significant loss to the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, with property worth millions of Naira destroyed.”
Sanwo-Olu further expressed his condolences to the management and staff of FRCN, saying, “It is with a heavy heart that I received news of the fire. Our thoughts and prayers are with the management and staff of FRCN, especially those at the Lagos Office.” The governor commended the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Federal Fire Service, and LASAMBUS officials for their swift response in extinguishing the fire and preventing loss of life.
According to reports, the fire started from an air conditioning unit and escalated, affecting two buildings, including control rooms and studios. Sanwo-Olu’s sympathy shows the governor’s commitment to supporting the FRCN during this difficult time.
