Vice President Kashim Shettima, representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, graced Lokoja with his presence to commemorate the first anniversary of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s administration.
Praising the Governor’s commitment to development, Shettima said, “Governor Ododo has shown an unwavering dedication to transforming Kogi State within just one year. His administration’s focus on critical infrastructure is paving the way for economic prosperity and connectivity.”
During the event, Shettima commissioned two landmark projects—the 9 km Zone 8 to GYB Road and the 5.5 km Zone 8 to Crusher Road. These roads, now vital arteries for transportation and commerce, were celebrated as major achievements aimed at improving the lives of Kogi residents and facilitating economic growth.
The town hall meeting at Muhammadu Buhari Square provided a platform for engaging with residents and stakeholders. Shettima, alongside key state and federal leaders, discussed the Governor’s accomplishments, including health, education, and economic reforms, while outlining plans for sustainable growth.
The event was attended by prominent figures, such as former Governors Yahaya Bello and Idris Wada, APC National Chairman Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, and Edo State Governor Senator Monday Okpebholo.
Governor Ododo’s first-year achievements also drew commendation from dignitaries such as House of Representatives Finance Committee Chairman James Faleke and former Deputy Senate President Ovie Omo-Agege.
Vice President Shettima concluded the event by reaffirming the federal government’s partnership with Kogi State. He emphasized that Ododo’s administration had laid a strong foundation for a brighter future, with infrastructure development as a cornerstone for prosperity.
