The Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Owan Enoh, has lauded Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan, the world record holder in the 100m hurdles, for achieving the fastest time of 12.40s at the Jamaican Athletics Invitational on Sunday. In encouraging her to continue excelling in the sport, Senator Enoh emphasized that her outstanding performance indicates that Nigeria is on track to secure a gold medal in track events at the upcoming Paris Olympics in France.

You triumphed in a resounding victory in the women’s 100m hurdles at the Jamaica Athletics Invitational, recording a time of 12.40s (0.9), the leading time globally!You outperformed World Champion Danielle Williams, who finished 2nd with a time of 12.46s, while Christina Clemons took 3rd place with a time of 12.54s.Tobi, you continue to bring honor to our nation.
