Vice Admiral Ibot-Ete Ibas, the recently appointed Sole Administrator of Rivers State, has formally returned to his position.
Upon his return, he met with security heads behind closed doors.
After a formal ceremony at the airport hosted by Rivers State Head of Service George Nwaeke, the former Naval Chief arrived at Government House, Port Harcourt, around midday on Thursday.

After the meeting, the Sole Administrator told reporters that talks with security heads were still going on.
Later in the day, he said, he might be able to talk more.
However, he stated that everything seems to be under control in Rivers State and promised to see that everything is fully returned to normal.
About two days after President Bola Tinubu selected Ibas to lead the state’s affairs, he returned to duties.
After Tinubu suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara, his deputy, and members of the Rivers State House of Assembly due to the state’s ongoing political crisis, he will be in command of the state for six months.
