President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has urged Nigerians to uphold the values of love, compassion, and charity, particularly towards the vulnerable, as the nation marks Eid-el-Fitr, signifying the end of Ramadan.
Speaking after the Eid prayers at the Abuja National Eid Prayer Ground, Tinubu emphasized the importance of
maintaining the values cultivated during the holy month.
The President encouraged Nigerians to continue acts of kindness and selflessness, caring for the vulnerable,
orphans, and the less privileged. He also reminded citizens to give thanks to Almighty Allah for the successful completion of Ramadan.
In his sermon, the Chief Imam of the National Mosque, Abuja, Dr. Abdulkadir Salman Sholagberu, echoed the
President’s call, urging the Muslim faithful to sustain the discipline and devotion exhibited during Ramadan. He
warned against spiritual complacency, likening those who abandon righteous deeds after Ramadan to a person who
builds a mansion only to demolish it with their own hands.
Dr. Sholagberu encouraged continued cooperation in righteousness, peaceful coexistence, and unwavering
commitment to national unity. He also reminded Nigerians that during Ramadan, they showed love to one another,
cared for people in need, extended charity, and maintained peace in the country.
