Tinubu’s First Year In Office Criticized As Lacking Substance By APC Leader

The leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Garus Gololo, has criticized the Federal Government’s sectorial briefings as a farce lacking in truth regarding the state of the Nigerian Economy. Gololo expressed his disappointment with the underperformance of certain cabinet members during a press conference in Abuja yesterday and urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to promptly reshuffle his cabinet to prevent further embarrassment to the ruling party.
He characterized the ministers’ presentations during the briefing as deceitful and diversionary, singling out the ‘dry farming project’ presented by the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari, as an example. Gololo emphasized that, apart from Barrister Nyesom Wike, the Minister of FCT, and the Minister of Health Mohammed Ali Pate, who have distinguished themselves with their notable achievements within a short period, the rest of the cabinet members are mere jesters. Gololo praised Wike and Ali Pate for their exceptional performance and suggested that their accomplishments speak for themselves.

Gololo scrutinized the Minister of Agriculture for misleading the public about the supposed dry farming projects taking place in Nigeria, particularly in the southern region of the country, while appearing on national television. He called for transparency from the minister regarding the actual progress of these projects so that interested individuals, like himself, can verify the claims. Gololo criticized the minister for focusing on paperwork and rhetoric instead of addressing the escalating prices of food items that burden the masses.
Furthermore, Gololo dismissed the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) demand for a minimum wage of N494,000, arguing that the proposed amount is insufficient to combat the rising costs of goods in the market in light of the current value of the naira. He also condemned what he described as the “nepotistic tendencies” of the Tinubu administration, advocating for a more inclusive and equitable government. Gololo drew parallels to the past administration of former President Mohammadu Buhari, highlighting the detrimental effects of nepotism in key appointments. He warned against repeating such practices, citing the recent mass dismissal of over 200 northerners by the CBN governor as evidence of divisive agendas within Nigerian governments that threaten the unity of the nation.
