A horrific incident of domestic violence has shaken the community of Oke-Ira, Ilogbo Eremi in the Badagry area of

Lagos State, as a 38-year-old woman was stabbed to death by her husband.

The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of the suspect, who is currently being held for further

investigation. According to the Police spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the incident occurred on Wednesday,

and detectives from Morogbo Division were swiftly deployed to the scene.

The team apprehended the suspect and recovered a kitchen knife stained with blood. The suspect has reportedly

confessed to committing the crime, and the police have launched a thorough investigation into the circumstances

surrounding the murder. The victim’s corpse has been deposited at the Badagry General Hospital morgue for preservation.

Domestic violence has become a growing concern in Nigeria, with many cases of husbands killing their wives or vice

versa. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the need for couples to seek help when experiencing marital problems.

The Lagos State Police Command has urged residents to report any cases of domestic violence or suspicious activity

to the authorities. The command is committed to ensuring that justice is served in this tragic case.

The suspect will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Yaba for further investigation

and prosecution. The police are working to determine the motives behind the murder and to ensure that the suspect

is held accountable.

This incident highlights the need for increased awareness and education on domestic violence, as well as the

importance of providing support services for victims and their families.

The Lagos State Government has been urged to take decisive action to address the growing problem of domestic

violence in the state. This includes increasing funding for support services and implementing policies to prevent

domestic violence.
