Ndidi excelled as a midfielder under Enzo Maresca during the previous EFL Championships season. According to Umpire Sports, Wilfred Ndidi, the midfielder for both the Super Eagles and Leicester City, is on the verge of leaving the club after turning down a new contract offer.
Following the departure of Enzo Maresca to Chelsea after Mauricio Pochettino’s dismissal, the Foxes recently appointed Steve Cooper as their manager.

Reports suggest that Cooper is prepared to enter the transfer market to bolster the squad but is awaiting Ndidi’s decision regarding his future at the King Power Stadium. Report has it that the versatile 27-year-old midfielder has declined another contract offer from Leicester City, indicating his intention to depart as his current deal expires soon.
Ndidi played a crucial role in Leicester’s promotion to the English Premier League from the Championships. Unless there is a change within the next few days, he will follow Kelechi Iheanacho as the second Super Eagles player to leave the club this season.

With offers from Olympique de Marseille, Aston Villa, Galatasaray, Trabzonspor, Everton, Atletico de Madrid, and Barcelona, Ndidi has a range of options available. The defensive midfielder aims to compete at the highest level and desires to join a club competing in the UEFA Champions League next season.
Leicester City and Steve Cooper must now prepare for life without Ndidi, who arrived at the Foxes from Genk in 2017.
Ndidi’s departure will undoubtedly leave a significant gap in Leicester City’s midfield. The club will need to act swiftly to find a suitable replacement for the talented Nigerian midfielder. Steve Cooper faces the challenge of reshaping the team to maintain their competitiveness in the Premier League without Ndidi’s presence on the field. The upcoming transfer window will be crucial for Leicester as they look to fill the void left by Ndidi’s imminent departure.
