Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike has called on Nigerians to exercise patience and not panic over the current economic situation in the country. Wike assured that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration is committed to implementing policies that will take Nigeria to greater heights.
The FCT minister made this statement while addressing reporters in Ibadan, Oyo State, after leading a condolence visit to Governor Seyi Makinde on the death of his elder brother, Sunday Makinde. Wike was accompanied by former Governors Samuel Ortom (Benue) and Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia), as well as several senators.
Wike emphasized that Nigerians tend to forget the significant challenges the country faced in the past and the progress made by the Tinubu administration. He acknowledged that the policies introduced by the current administration may cause temporary pain but ultimately lead to positive outcomes.
The FCT minister urged Nigerians to expect better things in the months ahead, citing the administration’s commitment to driving growth and development. Wike’s comments come as the country navigates its current economic challenges, with many Nigerians expressing concerns about the future.
During the condolence visit, Wike and his delegation were received at Governor Makinde’s private residence in Ikolaba. The FCT minister expressed his condolences to the governor and his family, highlighting the close relationship between Makinde and the visiting dignitaries.
