The APC officials from Birnin Magaji ward in Birnin Magaji Local Government Area of Zamfara have outrightly rejected the suspension of Representative Aminu Jaji by the state chapter of the party.
During a press conference held in Birnin-Magaji on Friday, the APC organizing secretary of Birnin Magaji ward, Abba Mamuda, expressed that the party executives from Mr. Jaji’s ward were not informed about his suspension.
“On behalf of the 23 APC executive members in this ward, we categorically oppose the suspension of Aminu Jaji from the APC,” stated Mr. Mamuda.
“We had no involvement in drafting any petition or suspension notice to the state against Jaji,” he further added.
The state APC chapter announced the suspension of Mr. Jaji on Friday, who serves as the Representative for the Kaura-Namoda/Birnin-Magaji Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, citing alleged anti-party activities.
“We harbor no grievances or animosity towards Aminu Jaji considering his dedication to the party and the entire populace of Kaura-Namoda/Birnin-Magaji constituency and Zamfara State,” emphasized Mr. Mamuda.
Therefore, Mr. Mamuda urged the state APC leadership to promptly reassess Mr. Jaji’s suspension.
“We are profoundly disheartened by the actions taken against Aminu Jaji by the Zamfara APC leadership; we lack faith in the present APC leadership at both the state and Birnin-Magaji Local Government Area levels.
“The state party leadership is in violation of the party’s constitutional provisions and regulations,” the secretary remarked.
Furthermore, the vice chairman of the APC in the ward, Isuhu Masko, hailed Mr. Jaji as the “pillar of APC in Birnin-Magaji and Zamfara.”
“As a legislator, Jaji epitomizes a true democrat and a representative of the grassroots. Therefore, the APC leadership should commend him and not entertain the idea of suspending him.
“We vehemently oppose the suspension of Jaji from the APC and stand in solidarity with Aminu Jaji as our leader in the APC,” Mr. Masko concluded.
