Rep Riley M. Moore of the United States Congress has insisted that the Islamic extremists causing mayhem in Nigeria have killed over 7,000 Christians this year.
Moore and Senator Ted Cruz alleged that there is an ongoing genocide against Christians in Nigeria.
Although the Nigerian government vehemently denied the claim, the two lawmakers insisted that Christians are being persecuted in Nigeria.
Their claims prompted the US President Donald Trump’s move to designate Nigeria as `Country of Particular Concerns.ʼ
In a post on his official X handle on Tuesday night, Moore, who thanked the US Rapper, Nicki Minaj for speaking up at the United Nations, said something must be done to save Nigerian Christians.
He wrote, “I want to personally thank @NICKIMINAJ for using her platform to elevate the issue of Christian persecution in Nigeria.
“7,000 Christians have been murdered this year alone. We must do everything in our power to defend our brothers and sisters in Christ.”
