AFCON 2025: ‘No Match is Easy in Africa’ – Moses Simon Cautions Super Eagles
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on WhatsappShare on EmailShare on Telegram

Super Eagles winger Moses Simon has cautioned the Austin Eguavoen’s squad, emphasizing that no match in Africa should be taken lightly.

His comments come as Nigeria gears up for its crucial 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Libya, scheduled to take place at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on Friday.

Simon, who plays for Nantes, is no stranger to the competitive nature of African football. He knows firsthand that every game presents its own set of challenges and that underestimating opponents can lead to unexpected outcomes.

In his remarks, he stressed the importance of approaching each match with respect and seriousness, regardless of the opponent’s reputation.

“A lot of people will say the game will be easy, but we all know no game is easy in Africa, even at your club,” Simon stated during an interview.

This acknowledgment of the unpredictability of football on the continent highlights the need for his teammates to remain mentally prepared and fully focused on their task ahead.

In the lead-up to the match, Simon also reflected on the importance of unity and teamwork. He noted that success often comes from working together as a cohesive unit, where each player contributes their strengths to achieve a common goal.

The Super Eagles have a rich history in African football, but Simon understands that maintaining that legacy requires hard work and dedication in every match.

As Nigeria prepares to face Libya, Simon advised his fellow players to dig deep and give their all in pursuit of victory. “We just need to fight and try to do our best to have the victory,” he affirmed.

This rallying cry serves as a reminder that in football, passion, and commitment can make the difference between winning and losing.

Moreover, the match against Libya is more than just a qualifier; it represents an opportunity for the Super Eagles to solidify their standing in the AFCON tournament.

A strong performance could not only boost the team’s morale but also enhance their chances of progressing further in the competition.

Simon expressed confidence in the team’s abilities, believing that if they stay focused and determined, they can overcome any obstacle in their path.

Moses Simon’s insights serve as a crucial reminder for both the players and fans alike: the road to success in African football is paved with challenges that require unwavering commitment, respect for opponents, and a collective effort.

As the Super Eagles prepare for the match against Libya, the call to fight for victory resonates as a testament to their ambition and determination to reclaim their place at the top of African football.

The upcoming match promises to be a thrilling encounter, one that will showcase the resilience and skill of the Super Eagles as they strive to secure a vital win in their AFCON campaign.
