A former presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has urged Nigerians not to vote for him due to tribal or religious sentiments.
He stated this during an interview on Arise TV on Monday night.
Obi recently joined the African Democratic Party (ADC), from the Labour Party (LP), and is planning to contest in the 2027 general elections.
Obi has told voters to choose him because of his commitment to fixing the country.
“I’ve said before do not vote for me because I’m from the South East. Do not vote for me because I am a Christian.
“Vote for me because I am committed to turning Nigeria around.
“And I will do it, starting from the North, because I know where the problem is.
“I will start bringing back the productivity that made the North safe.
“We will move the country from consumption to production. From sharing wealth to creating it.”
