The Jigawa State Emergency Management Agency (JISEMA) has provided relief materials to families affected by the recent tanker explosion in Majia, Taura Local Government Area. The explosion, which caused significant damage, prompted an emergency response to assist the 210 impacted households.

The distribution, which took place on Saturday in Majia, included essential items such as 25kg bags of rice and millet, cartons of spaghetti, seasonings, detergents, soap, semolina, vegetable oil, and 110 rubber mats. Dr. Mairiga Haruna Mairiga, the Executive Secretary of JISEMA, highlighted that the relief materials were contributed by the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), and JISEMA itself.

Dr. Mairiga explained that the relief efforts aim to alleviate the suffering of those impacted by the disaster. He confirmed that the distribution covered all 210 affected families, ensuring they receive immediate support.

Beneficiaries expressed their gratitude towards the Federal and State governments, as well as individuals who have extended their assistance since the tragic incident in October. Mr. Auwal Abdullahi, one of the beneficiaries whose son is currently receiving medical treatment at Rashid Shekoni Hospital in Dutse, noted that the aid would help reduce the financial and emotional burden caused by the explosion.

Many victims praised the timely intervention by JISEMA and expressed their appreciation for the support received. They also prayed for continued guidance and success for the state’s Governor, Umar Namadi, in his leadership efforts.
