The Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Ododo, has approved the early payment of December salaries for civil servants and pensioners in the state. This announcement was made by the Commissioner for Information, Kingsley Fanwo, who noted that the payment on December 14 was aimed at helping workers prepare for Christmas and New Year celebrations.
Fanwo highlighted that the early salary disbursement would allow civil servants to plan ahead, particularly those intending to travel for the holidays. He noted that a similar initiative was implemented during the Sallah celebrations, ensuring workers could celebrate with ease and comfort.
“The payment reflects the government’s commitment to the welfare of civil servants, recognizing their dedication and contributions to the state’s development policies and projects,” Fanwo stated. He emphasized that Governor Ododo prioritizes timely payment as a way to reward hard work and enhance the quality of life for public servants.
The early disbursement is also seen as a way to ensure that workers can address their basic needs ahead of the yuletide. According to Fanwo, this gesture underscores the administration’s focus on creating a supportive and rewarding environment for civil servants.
Governor Ododo’s administration has consistently emphasized the importance of workers’ welfare. Fanwo reassured residents that the state government remains committed to initiatives that foster a productive and satisfied workforce, particularly during festive seasons.
