Chelsea Women have named Sonia Bompastor, former manager of Lyon, as the new head coach in a four-year agreement on Wednesday. The 43-year-old is taking over from Emma Hayes, who guided the team to 14 significant titles in her 12-year tenure.

Bompastor, who has had considerable success in France, secured seven trophies with Lyon over the last three seasons. In a statement released by the club, she expressed her commitment to the new venture, aiming to fulfill the club’s ambitions, support the staff, and inspire the players.
