Tambuwal Blasts President Tinubu: ‘You’re Part of the Buhari Failures’

By: Nwakaji Peace Martins

The former governor of Sokoto State and current senator representing Sokoto South, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has advised President Bola Tinubu to cease distancing himself from the failures of Muhammadu Buhari’s administration. Tambuwal, speaking at a People’s Democratic Party (PDP) stakeholders’ gathering in Sokoto, expressed his view that the APC, as a political entity, never intended to ensure the security of the nation, but rather focused on acquiring power to govern. He found it disconcerting that Tinubu’s aides and associates were criticizing Buhari’s leadership.
“It is perplexing to witness Tinubu’s administration, which has not adequately protected Nigerians over the past year, now criticizing and disavowing Buhari’s administrative shortcomings.” There is no justification for President Tinubu to permit his aides or ministers to denigrate the APC government under Buhari, given the substantial benefits he has derived from it. President Tinubu should devote his full attention to governing Nigeria and prevent narrow-minded elements within his administration from undermining his laudable objectives, if any.

In essence, Nigerians seek reassurance regarding the safety of their lives and property across the nation. He should instruct his cabinet members to prioritize national unity and development, rather than blaming Buhari’s previous administration. Furthermore, he encouraged PDP supporters to remain resolute amid the current state of affairs and strive for political harmony within the party. “You have consistently advocated for change and political solidarity. Let these principles guide you towards peace and unity, characterized by discipline and respect for all party members.”
Tambuwal also praised the dedication, unity, and progress of the PDP leadership in Sokoto State.

The Chairman of the PDP in Sokoto State, Alhaji Bello Goronyo, expressed gratitude to the party’s supporters and urged them to continue their unwavering commitment. He also acknowledged Tambuwal’s efforts in unifying the party in the state and his financial contributions towards the effective management of the party at the state level. The stakeholders’ meeting was attended by the party’s leadership and elders from all 23 local government areas of the state.
