Police Raid Unveils 14 Vehicles Hidden by Anambra Gunmen

Police operatives in Anambra State have successfully recovered 14 vehicles subsequent to their intervention in camps owned by armed individuals causing fear in the state.
According to a statement released by the state Police Command’s spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the operations conducted to raid the camps and retrieve the vehicles took place at various times and locations across the state.
In a communication provided to Umpirenews, Ikenga stated: “We wish to notify the general public and the esteemed residents of Anambra State that through multiple operations aimed at dismantling criminal camps, we were able to recover vehicles, tricycles, and motorcycles.”He mentioned that the vehicles were unlawfully taken through armed robbery, theft, homicide, forceful or illicit property dispossession, and car theft by criminals.

Ikenga further stated: “The rightful owners are urged to visit the State Criminal Investigations Department office in Awka with valid evidence of ownership to reclaim their property.”
Additionally, he highlighted that the state’s Commissioner of Police, Nnaghe Obono Itam, is dedicated to ensuring that stolen assets are consistently retrieved and restored to their lawful owners to alleviate the sense of loss experienced by victims of such crimes.
The recovered vehicles consist of a Space Wagon Passat bearing registration (reg) number: NNE 48 AS; a Volkswagen Golf with reg number: THE 479 AA; a shuttle bus with reg number: AGU 364 ZW, and a Mitsubishi bus with reg number: CN 25 ABJ.

Furthermore, there is a shuttle bus with reg number: JJT 442 ZF; another shuttle bus with reg number: AWK 913 ZQ, a TVS tricycle lacking a registration number; another TVS tricycle with reg number: AAH 410 VW; a Topstar motorcycle also lacking a registration number, a Honda today motorcycle without a reg number; a Honda cub without a reg number; a Sanyang motorcycle without a reg number; a Keystone motorcycle without a reg number; and a Honda today motorcycle without a reg number.

The recovered vehicles have been safely secured and are awaiting their rightful owners to claim them at the State Criminal Investigations Department office in Awka. The police are committed to ensuring that stolen assets are returned to their lawful owners to bring closure to the victims of these crimes. The recovered vehicles include a Space Wagon Passat, a Volkswagen Golf, a shuttle bus, a Mitsubishi bus, two TVS tricycles, a Topstar motorcycle, two Honda Today motorcycles, a Honda Cub, a Sanyang motorcycle, and a Keystone motorcycle.
The police continue to investigate the criminal camps and are determined to recover more stolen vehicles in the ongoing operations. The commitment to restoring stolen assets to their rightful owners remains a top priority for the Anambra State Police Command.
