Bauchi State Assembly Aspirants Returns to APC

Members of the “Bauchi State Assembly Aspirants Forum,” a group of aspiring lawmakers in the Bauchi State, have recently praised Senator Shehu Buba of Bauchi South for his commendable contributions to the state. They commended him for his efforts in reconciling members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who had been unhappy with the party and for helping to bring back those who had left for other parties during the last elections.

During a recent press conference, Hon. Aliyu Songuy, the chairman of the forum, spoke on behalf of the group. He was joined by other former APC members who had rejoined the party. Songuy and his colleagues highlighted Senator Buba’s role in their return to the APC after they had initially left due to dissatisfaction with how the 2023 elections were handled.

Hon. Songuy praised Senator Buba for his leadership and efforts to mend divisions within the party. He explained that Senator Buba’s approach had been instrumental in addressing the grievances of party members and in restoring their faith in the APC. Despite representing Bauchi South, Buba has worked hard to involve and support APC members across the entire state. His leadership has focused on uniting the party and revitalizing its efforts to ensure its strength and unity.

Songuy, who himself had left the APC to join the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and run for a state assembly seat in the 2023 elections, acknowledged that many candidates felt unfairly treated during the APC primaries. This dissatisfaction led some aspirants to defect to other parties such as the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP). However, due to Buba’s reconciliation efforts, these individuals were encouraged to return to the APC.

The Bauchi State Assembly Aspirants Forum has welcomed these developments as a positive step towards rebuilding and strengthening the APC. They believe that Senator Buba’s actions have not only helped in addressing past grievances but also in creating a more cohesive and motivated party structure. This renewed unity is seen as crucial for the party’s future success and for its ability to effectively address the concerns of its members.

The forum’s members expressed hope that the positive changes brought about by Senator Buba’s leadership will lead to greater cooperation and success for the APC in upcoming elections. They are optimistic that the efforts to reconcile and reengage former members will result in a more unified party, capable of effectively pursuing its goals and representing the interests of its supporters.

The Bauchi State Assembly Aspirants Forum has recognized Senator Shehu Buba for his significant role in resolving internal conflicts within the APC and in encouraging former members to return. His leadership has been praised for fostering unity and revitalizing the party, addressing grievances, and promoting a more inclusive and supportive environment for all APC members across Bauchi State.
