On Thursday, the Ogun State Government unveiled the names of individuals recently appointed to various non-statutory boards by Governor Dapo Abiodun. These appointments represent the beginning of a series of changes and updates planned by the state government.
According to a statement from Hon. Kayode Akinmade, the Special Adviser on Media and Strategy to Governor Abiodun, these new appointments are part of a broader strategy to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of various state agencies. The newly appointed members will serve on several boards, including the Ogun Waste Management Authority (OGWAMA), the Ogun State Agricultural and Multipurpose Credit Agency (OSAMCA), Plantgate Limited, and the Ogun State Alternative Medicine Board (OGAMB).
The Ogun Waste Management Authority (OGWAMA) will be overseen by Chairman Hon. Ajibola Kaka. The board includes a diverse group of professionals and community leaders such as Prince Salako Olalekan, Mr. Iroko Ganiu, and Hon. Adefisan Kazeem, among others. These members are tasked with improving waste management practices and ensuring a cleaner environment across Ogun State.
The Ogun State Agricultural and Multipurpose Credit Agency (OSAMCA) will be chaired by Sodeinde Kunle. The board members for OSAMCA are Olaonipekun Tajudeen A., Akinoso Olusesi Olayinka, Kuye Rasaq Abiodun, Odeyemi Rafiu, and several others. This agency aims to support agricultural development and provide financial services to farmers and agricultural entrepreneurs in the state.
Plantgate Limited, a key player in the state’s agricultural sector, will be managed by Engr. Mukaila Olugbuyi Bello, with Hon. Nuberu Adesanya Olufemi and Adeleye Jimo Pelumi also serving on the board. This organization is expected to focus on agricultural production and related projects to drive economic growth in the region.
The Ogun State Alternative Medicine Board (OGAMB) will be chaired by Nurudeen Olaleye Alawoerin. The board includes Chief Mrs. Tuke Omotara, HRH Agasagan Awusinu, Chief Kokumo Abiodun Edubona, and several other notable figures. This board’s role will be to regulate and promote alternative medicine practices in Ogun State, ensuring that they meet established standards and contribute to public health.
