Faruku Maisudan, a representative from Suru Local Government Constituency in the Kebbi House of Assembly, has recently undertaken a significant initiative to support local education. He has sponsored 23 students to study at the State College of Health Sciences and Technology. This gesture highlights his commitment to fostering educational development and improving healthcare services within his constituency.
On Sunday, Mr. Maisudan presented admission letters to the 23 students, comprising 17 female and 6 male pupils. The presentation took place in Suru, located in the Suru Local Government Area of Kebbi State. This act of generosity is part of his broader scholarship program aimed at addressing the educational needs of his community.
During the presentation, Mr. Maisudan explained that this scholarship program is a key part of his efforts to provide healthcare professionals across all 11 wards in his constituency. He emphasized the importance of education in driving meaningful development and societal progress.
“Education is a fundamental pillar for any prosperous and equitable society,” Mr. Maisudan stated. “Governments and communities that prioritize education are laying the groundwork for a sustainable and successful future.”
He elaborated on his commitment, noting that his decision to offer full scholarships to these 23 students, with a focus on female students, stems from his belief in the transformative power of education. By ensuring that these students receive quality education and training, Mr. Maisudan aims to contribute to the development of skilled healthcare workers who will benefit the entire constituency.
Mr. Maisudan encouraged the students to take full advantage of this opportunity and to use their education not only for personal growth but also for the betterment of their community. “The investment in your education is not just an investment in your future but also in the future of our community,” he added. Each student will have their registration fees and other logistical expenses fully covered, relieving them of financial burdens and allowing them to focus entirely on their studies.
In a show of gratitude, Jafar Haliru-Mutube II, representing the parents of the beneficiaries, commended Mr. Maisudan for his leadership and dedication to education in the area. He praised the lawmaker for his ongoing support and acknowledged the positive impact of the scholarship program on local students. “This is the third batch of Mr. Maisudan’s scholarship scheme,” Haliru-Mutube noted. “Just three months ago, he extended similar support to students pursuing studies at Kebbi State Polytechnic and other institutions.”
He expressed appreciation for Mr. Maisudan’s continued efforts and encouraged other successful individuals and organizations to follow his example. “We are fortunate to have Mr. Maisudan as our representative. His contributions to education are commendable, and we hope others will be inspired to support the education of our children,” Haliru-Mutube said.
